Hello My Friend:
As you are likely aware, I took ahold of the greatest opportunity to visit Afghanistan back in 2012. During that trip I visited and learned so much about our partnering schools and clinics. I had the honor to teach 2 of the children’s classes and was absolutely in love with the innocent, vibrant and intelligent children! The children absolutely stole my heart along with the welcoming culture of everyone we visited.
I have decided to grasp ahold of a
similar opportunity this fall and return to Afghanistan. My heart goes out for these men, women and
children who struggle to make-ends-meet, create sustainability for their lives
and their families all while overcoming the challenges and fear of living in
a culture of war. I cannot let the
opportunity to bring hope, friendship and compassion to even one of these
extraordinary people pass me by.
It was abundantly clear during my last experience that a trip like this is something you cannot do alone and I am not just referring to my fellow travelers. I definitely need the support of my friends and family in order to be the true hands and feet of God during this experience. My request is for your support and prayers during this adventure; pre, post and during my trip.
Through our partnering organization we provide schooling to many kids that would not otherwise have the opportunity to learn. Leaving in the fall, 10 other ladies and I will visit the homes of our “street kids.” Our goal will be to better understand their daily lives, abilities, incomes, etc so that we can use the information to launch new initiatives and support for the people of Afghanistan. Please consider joining this “journey for love and change” with me.
First and foremost, I ask for your prayers and positive thoughts while my team and I prepare for the trip. I also ask that you pray for the safety and protection of our team and all those we meet during the trip. Secondly, I would like to invite you to be a part of the journey and contribute financially.
My goal is to raise $3,500 before we leave in the fall. As part of my support team I want you to know you are part of the journey as well. I will provide updates before, during and after the trip.
